Detroit Lakes Boys Basketball 2010-2011 Team Preview

Head Coach: Robb Flint (3rd season, 31-50 overall)

Assistant Coaches: Kirk Beebout (Assistant Varsity), Robbie Cox (JV Coach), Adam Jensen (9th Grade)

2009-10 Record:

12-15 overall, 5-5 Mid-State (T-3rd Place).  The Lakers averaged 63.1 points per game, while allowing 60.5 per game.

2009-10 Conference Champ:

Crosby Ironton was 9-1 in the Mid-State Conference, 30-3 overall.  The Rangers went on to finish as the Class AA State runner-ups.

2009-10 Playoff/Section results:

D.L. was the No. 6 seed in the Section 8AAA playoffs.  They lost to No. 3 Bemidji in quarterfinals, 55-44.  No. 2 Little Falls beat No. 4 Apollo for the 8AAA championship.  The Flyers lost in the State quarterfinals.  St. Paul Johnson beat Grand Rapids for the Class AAA State Championship.

2010-11 Seniors:

Josh Stalberger- All conference 13.5 ppg, 6 rpg

Brian Labat- All Conference Honorable Mention 7ppg, 5rpg

Key Underclassmen:

Joe Mollberg- 10 ppg, 4 rpg

Connor Hedstrom- 4apg

Season Outlook:

The Lakers defensive intensity and ability to defend the ball with have a huge impact on their success this year. Staying healthy will be a big key to their success.

Conference Preview:

Kurtis Moody and Pequot Lakes will have a good team this year.  C-I lost some key players, but will still have a solid squad.

Section Preview:

Rocori can never be counted out in Section 8AAA.  Apollo, Bemidji and Little Falls could be tough as well.
