Crosby-Ironton Football Falls to Braham

The Rangers hosted their first home game of the season on Friday night against the #3 ranked (1A) Braham Bombers.

Braham opened up the scoring early with a TD run in the first minute of the game. However, C-I responded right back when Eli Winegarner dashed 30 yards to the end zone, tying the game at 6-6.

In the 2nd quarter, the Bombers completed two TD passes to take the lead 20-6. Not to be outdone, C-I threw a TD pass of their own right before halftime. It was a 43 yard connection between seniors Zac Myhre and Nate Sova. Winegarner ran in the 2 point conversion to make the score 20-14 at the half.

Braham held C-I in check for most of the 3rd quarter while putting up 6 more points of their own on another TD pass. In the 4th, Winegarner scored his 2nd TD of the night, this time a 4 yard run. He also punched in the 2 point conversion to close the gap to 26-20.

C-I had an outstanding 4th down stand on the next Bomber possession to get the ball back inside their own 5 yard line with just over 3 minutes to play. Unfortunately, an interception by Braham abruptly ended C-I's drive. The Bombers punched another one across the goal line shortly afterwards, making it 34-22.

C-I falls to 1-2 on the season overall and Braham improved to 2-0. The Rangers have a bye week next week before hosting Mora at home on Sept. 22nd
