Brainerd/Little Falls girl’s hockey team advances to state with a 2-1 win over the top seed Roseau in the Section 8-AA championship. The Warriors have an overall record of 23-5 and will take on Edina at the Xcel Energy Center Thursday night, 2/22/18 at 6:00 PM. Edina has an overall record of 25-2-1 and comes out of Section 6-AA with a 4-2 win over Blake in the 6-AA championship game.
Brainerd boy’s hockey got the 3rd seed in the Section 8-AA tournament and took down the 6th seed Bemidji 4-1 at home on Tuesday, 2/20/18. Brainerd has an overall record of 20-6 and will take on St. Michael-Albertville, the number 2 seed, on Saturday, 2/24/18. The game will be held at St. Michael-Albertville. STMA currently has a record of 21-5 and beat Buffalo, the 7th seed to advance. The winner will advance to the Section 8-AA championship against the winner of the number 1 seed, Moorhead, and the 4th seed St. Cloud.
Little Falls boy’s hockey team drew the 4 seed in the Section 6-A tournament and matched up against the 5 seed River Lakes. Little Falls lost 3-2 on Thursday 2/20/18 at home. The Flyers finish the season with a 12-11-3 record.
Northern Lakes Lightning boy’s hockey team drew the 8 seed in the Section 5-A tournament and took on the 9 seed Becker/Big Lake. The Lightning won 3-1 Tuesday night, 2/20/18, and advanced to take on top seeded Monticello Thursday, 2/22/18, at 7:00 PM in Monticello.
Northern Lakes Lightning girl’s hockey team drew the 6 seed in the Section 6-A tournament and took on the 3 seed, River Lakes. The Lightning fell 2-1 and finish the season with a 9-16 record.
