Little Falls Girls' Soccer Falls to Sauk Rapids

The Little Falls Flyers Girls Soccer team lost to Sauk Rapids-Rice 5-1 tonight in Sauk Rapids.

The Flyers scored the games opening goal when Joelle Vacek played a ball up to Marre Welinski who played it past the keeper 4 minutes into the game.

Sauk Rapids-Rice came back and scored the next four goals of the half, at 7 minutes, 9:30, 15, and 27 minutes. The Flyers then held the Storm scoreless the rest of the half. Sauk Rapids-Rice scored 2 minutes into the second half for the final goal of the game. The Flyers defense was able to hold the Storm scoreless for the final 38 minutes to put in a solid effort defensively in the second half. Eighth grader Ana Steadman played 35 minutes and had 4 saves on 8 shots and freshman Eliana Jackson played 45 minutes and had 6 saves on 7 shots.
 
 
The JV team suffered their first loss of the season, losing 2-1.
 
The Flyers fall to 3-3 on the season and next play at Cathedral Thursday night (9/13), JV at 5pm and Varsity at 7pm.
